New LCF e-newsletter

The Lancaster Centre for Forecasting (LCF) is a research centre dedicated to forecasting. With over 15 staff and PhD students, LCF hosts the largest research unit dedicated to forecasting in Europe.  Their newsletter for 2008/9 holds updates on their current activities how they support organisations facing forecasting challenges.

The Forecasting Centre actively engages in corporate projects all year round, and delivers applied research and consultancy services directly to organisations in two ways: corporate research projects of senior staff (often with PhD student support), and 5-10 annual Master student projects lasting 3 months. Training Courses
The Lancaster Centre for Forecasting has increased the number of open training courses and bespoke in-house training courses for corporate clients. Courses cover fundamental forecasting training of statistical forecasting methods (e.g. exponential smoothing and regression), enhanced forecasting methods (e.g. artificial neural networks) and tailored training for software-systems (e.g. SAP APO-DP).
