Demand planning is key for Dad’s

Park City Group has agreed a deal with family-owned Pennsylvania pet food manufacturer Dad’s Products to implement its Enterprise Demand Planning (EDP) solution, to improve forecast accuracy while minimising the time involved.

Dad's Products Co. Inc. has experienced rapid growth during the past few years. Their product offerings have increased over 200%, their manufacturing divisions have doubled and they were finding it increasingly difficult to effectively forecast their customer demand and downstream production requirements. Dad's will integrate the EDP solution with their JustFoodERP solution for the food & beverage industry, which is powered by Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Dad's Pet Care recognized that their demand planning requirements have evolved to where they needed to add to the solid foundation of JustFoodERP  to maximize visibility and planning accuracy.

Dad's Pet Care will be using EDP to improve their forecast accuracy, and enhance their execution processes while minimizing the amount of time involved in the forecasting process. Through the use of ‘What if' and financial analyses, Dad's will be able to accurately forecast not only current product demand, but promotional lift and expected demand of new products. Dad's Pet Care has a large number of private label and co-packed items, so an accurate forecast is imperative to their success since they cannot resell overproduced items. "Park City Group's demand planning solution is extremely powerful and brings all of our demand signals and POS data together in one place, providing us functionality and visibility we have never had before" stated Tom Feather, Dad's Pet Care Director of Trade Marketing.

Dad's Pet Care will also participate in a Supply Chain Profit Link (SCPL) Opportunity Assessment, a Park City Group service designed to identify sales and profit improvement through analysis of SKU mix and promotional optimization while identifying merchandising execution issues that may cause out-of-stocks or distribution voids.  SCPL is a service for perishable and non-perishable categories that analyzes retail data and provides specific action steps to improve sales opportunities and cost saving measures not previously recognized by retailers or suppliers.

"Our recent merger with Prescient Applied Intelligence has greatly enhanced the solutions and services we have to offer to all points along the supply chain. Dad's Pet Care choice of both EDP and SCPL is a prime example of why we knew this merger would have great value to the industry," commented Randall K. Fields, Park City Group CEO.
